2008-11-18 Natuba™ Chooses ServerBeach As Dedicated Web Hosting Partner
Fast-growing online photo-sharing community looks for scalable, consistent support for newly expanded platform and increased site traffic
SAN ANTONIO – November 18, 2008 – ServerBeach, a PEER 1 company specializing in dedicated hosting, has been chosen by Natuba™ to provide web hosting and IT infrastructure for the rapidly growing site. Natuba is changing the way people document and share photos, by providing a simple way to capture and share single photos whether from a desktop or a mobile phone. Originally designed as an iPhone focused Web site, Natuba is now broadening its reach to support multiple mobile and Web platforms. These changes and growth require a reliable and flexible hosting solution that can address the growing demands of its community.
"Our goal is to provide a simple way for people to share their photos and to make this process quick and easy, all based on a stable online environment," said Richard Yoo, chief executive officer of Natuba. "In order to achieve this, we needed to rethink our network and hosting needs, which brought us to ServerBeach. The level of service and support is higher than what we found elsewhere, and we feel confident that our hosting and network will continue to grow efficiently with us, as our community of users increases."
Natuba experienced a seamless transition when it moved its business to ServerBeach in September of this year. Since that move, the Natuba site is processing at speeds nearly 16 times faster than before, meaning users now see their photos appear online almost instantly after uploading from their mobile phones.
Natuba, which was created by ServerBeach co-founder Richard Yoo, relies on having a usable, accessible site. With ServerBeach, its system is fully optimized for posting and viewing of photos that matter the most to people. In the first few weeks working with ServerBeach, the Natuba team has virtually seen no network challenges or any need for technical support outside of the transition.
"We were excited to see Richard return to his roots here with the ServerBeach family," said Robert Miggins, senior vice-president of business development for PEER 1. "We are dedicated to working closely with the creative people at Natuba, as with all our customers, to provide all the hosting infrastructure and tools they need to reach their goals and continue experiencing success."

2008-10-06 PEER 1 Powers Sitemasher, New SaaS Web Site Development Solution
Customized Web Hosting and Virtualization Support Are Key to Success of Advanced Web Service
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 6, 2008 -- Through the creation of a highly tailored managed hosting solution, PEER 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (TSX: PIX) helped enable the launch of Sitemasher, a revolutionary Web site development service that combines ease of use with the power that enterprise users demand. Sitemasher provides a fully managed, hosted Web site solution that seamlessly integrates the Web site building and publishing environment, content management system (CMS), analytics and search engine optimization (SEO), all within single platform.
Sitemasher provides a rich, technical framework that gives businesses the tools and services to create their own data-driven web applications without programming. This unique, practical approach has enabled the company to grow quickly with more than 2,000 customers since beta-testing began in April. PEER 1's ability to deliver a creative solution to the client's needs mirrors Sitemasher's own business model, and is credited by Sitemasher as being integral to its successful launch.
"When we researched hosting companies, PEER 1 was the only one that was willing to put together a customized solution that was a fit for us," said Sitemasher CEO Ron Moravek. "They have one of the most extensive and highest performing networks in the world and are well respected for this. No one else could provide us the solution for our cloud computing that we needed, but PEER 1 stepped up and made it work. PEER 1 provides us with the ability to offer our customers scalability, reliability, and load balancing so they don't have to worry about exceeding their limits if business is good."
Sitemasher differs drastically from its competition because it doesn't focus on one area of the Web site lifecycle, such as design, content management, or maintenance. Instead, it takes care of the entire lifecycle of a Web site, and delivers this function as a service. As a result, businesses can take control of their web presence without compromising on enterprise-level necessities.
"As we look toward the future of the hosting industry, we see customizations, such as the solution we created for Sitemasher, becoming more prevalent," said Robert Miggins, senior vice president of business development for PEER 1. "The ability to channel our powerful network to support and enable virtualization, is key for the growth of forward-thinking tech companies like Sitemasher, and helps them carve out a niche in the Web 2.0 space."
PEER 1 is one of the only hosting companies offering all three types of web hosting services under one roof; dedicated, managed and co-location. These extensive services are supported by PEER 1's world class, geographically diverse network, which includes 15 data centers in major cities across North America and POPs in Europe.
Before even bringing their product to market, Sitemasher has been the recipient of several awards: Red Herring finalist for top-50 Canadian IT companies, Microsoft Canada "Blue Sky" Award, and a selected participant in Microsoft's prestigious Accelerator Program.

2008-10-02 PEER 1 Launches Partner Network
Comprehensive Referral and Reseller Programs Increase Customer Value and Revenue Possibilities
PEER 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (TSX: PIX - News), a leading provider of online IT infrastructure, has launched the PEER 1 Partner Network, an integrated Referral and Reseller Program targeted towards web developers, system integrators and IT consultants. These programs are designed to provide PEER 1 partners with an opportunity to strengthen their relationships with existing clients, offer revenue incentives to refer business and in turn increase revenue for both PEER 1 and its partners.
"We are constantly looking for opportunities to work more closely with our partners and their clients. These programs are designed to provide higher value relationships with clients and increase our partner's revenues today and into the future," said Robert Miggins, senior vice president of business development for PEER 1. "The Partner Network will significantly enhance PEER 1's referral and reseller sales channels by providing our partners with an integrated incentive system that also allows us to grow our revenue."
The Referral Program provides partners with a variety of choices for significant business and revenue growth opportunities without having to close the sale themselves or support the client afterwards. Referral partners can either receive a one-time commission of up to 100 percent for each new customer referral or participate in a revenue sharing plan that pays a monthly commission (monthly recurring revenue) of up to 15 percent. For example, if a partner refers a customer that orders a $5,000 solution, the partner can choose a one-time commission of $3,500 or recurring commission of $500 per month for the length of the initial contract.
Once a referral is passed on to PEER 1, a PEER 1 account manager will be assigned to the referred client who will work closely with a PEER 1 solution engineer to fully assess hosting needs and to recommend the best business IT solution. From that point, clients receive around-the-clock technical support through the PEER 1 support team and the MyPEER1.com website portal.
The Reseller Program, which is expected to be deployed later this quarter, will help partners offer comprehensive hosting solutions backed by PEER 1. Features will include partner discounts for dedicated servers, setup fees and managed services. Partners will have the flexibility to set pricing, with the full support of a dedicated PEER 1 account team made up of a personal account manager, technical specialist, and a billing specialist. Co-branded sales and marketing materials will also be available, as well as Partner Network status and exposure on the PEER 1 website.
"We have enjoyed a very consistent level of service with PEER 1 both with its Referral and Reseller Programs," said Mark Lewis, chief technology officer with Mass Transmit. "We mostly resell their dedicated servers, but sometimes have clients who want to deal directly with the hosting provider. In those cases, we refer them to PEER 1 without hesitation, knowing they are in the best of hands. We also enjoy a good relationship with our account team. Our technical account manager has helped us many times when we've been in a pinch."

2008-06-25 PEER 1 Continues Rapid Growth With Network Upgrade
State-of-the-Art Network Paves Way for Future Technology Growth and Innovation
SAN FRANCISCO, California – Structure 08 – PEER 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (TSX: PIX), a leading provider of online IT infrastructure, has completed a comprehensive, standardized network upgrade to 10GB/OC192. The upgrade strengthens the IT platform needed for online business growth and new technologies, as well as helping enable continued innovation in the market. The upgrade also maximizes PEER 1’s strategy for offering new infrastructure architectures and its capability to support new technology development.
PEER 1’s move to the new 10GB/OC192 architecture enables higher throughput and packet-per-second capability, which meets the needs of industries such as VoIP and gaming. Additionally, the upgrade enables PEER 1 to provide the highest possible bandwidth required by companies specializing in rich-media and streaming applications.
“The growth of new technologies in the IT infrastructure and managed hosting markets is changing the landscape significantly,” said Antonio Piraino, senior analyst with Tier 1 Research. “The eventual winners in this space will be those companies that are best able to leverage these new technologies in concert with the efficient use of existent resources to produce services that are genuinely flexible and always available.”
PEER 1’s long-term strategy for implementing new market innovations is to partner with companies that are experts in specific technologies. In this way the company will not be tied down to an exclusive technology, but instead can take full advantage of the dynamic infrastructure market. This also gives PEER 1 the flexibility to continue to grow and develop with partners as the technology matures.
At the same time, PEER 1’s extensive network and hosting services provide the unique opportunity to test what works best for its customers. Since the core requirements for both new technologies and the PEER 1 network are similar, PEER 1 truly understands what is needed to deliver new platforms. And with the strength of its network new technologies can integrate easily into the company’s full service solution offerings.
“PEER 1's strategic development for these new technologies enables us to continue delivering world-class service for our customers now and in the future,” said Fabio Banducci, CEO of PEER 1. “We are committed to help businesses realize the growing possibilities of the Internet. With the power and breadth of the PEER 1 network, we are in a unique position to promote and support more powerful solutions to benefit both our customers and the industry in general.”
The company’s distinctive approach enabled PEER 1 to report seven consecutive quarters of record profitable growth, according to third quarter financial results released earlier this year. PEER 1’s world class network is geographically diverse, including 17 data centers and POPs in major cities across North America and Europe.

2008-04-29 PEER 1 Premieres "Growing Pains" Episode Two, Contest
Humorous new episode airs at Interop Las Vegas to highlight true-to-life growing pains of home office IT networks
Booth No. 2507, Interop, Las Vegas – April 29, 2008 – PEER 1, a leading provider of online IT infrastructure, released today the second episode of its humorous video series, “Growing Pains,” along with its new Growing Pains $10,000 Contest. Premiering at Interop Las Vegas, from April 29 – May 1, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, episode two continues the saga of a home business start-up that grew quickly out of control, taking over the house with new employees, computers and servers.
Viewers of the episode can create their own growing pains videos highlighting their personal experiences for a chance to win a prize package of 12 months of free managed hosting, a 15-inch MacBook and a Sony HD camcorder, at a total value of $10,000.
“We want our customers to focus on the possibilities not the problems of the Internet,” said Rajan Sodhi, vice president of marketing at PEER 1. “With the Growing Pains series we are able to bring people together through humor and show that we truly understand the issues that businesses face today. PEER 1 removes these issues to help online businesses succeed in any industry.”
Many PEER 1 customers experienced their own growing pains before they turned to the company to help gain control of their IT infrastructure.
PEER 1 has compiled the top five of these growing pains, which are:
1. High Costs – Running servers from a home office eats up too much capital and keeps small businesses from making other important investments
2. Too Complex – Networks are too complex, too difficult to manage
3. Time Consuming – Businesses suffer because IT takes up too much time, and business owners are not able to focus on generating revenue
4. Unreliable – Lack of redundancy means businesses experience downtime and lose revenue
5. No support – Running a network in a home office means there is not any IT support
The Growing Pains video series is a part of PEER 1’s “We Get IT” campaign, which focuses on the customers behind technology. The first episode was viewed more than 75,000 times through Viddler and YouTube.

2008-04-08 PEER 1 Contest Eases IT Growing Pains
Big Room Studios Wins 12 Months of Free Managed Hosting, Just in Time for Needed Expansion
VANCOUVER, BC – April 8, 2008 – PEER 1, a leading provider of online IT infrastructure, has announced the winner of its Growing Pains Free Hosting Contest, with a prize of 12 months of free managed hosting, valued at more than $2400. Tim Mateosian, co-founder of Big Room Studios, has won a managed hosting server, which includes 1 TB of monthly data transfer and bi-weekly vulnerability scans. The open contest received more than 1,000 online entries from viewers of the premier episode of “Growing Pains,” the company’s humorous video-short series (www.peer1.com/growingpains/index.php?play).
“The best thing about this contest is that it truly helps Tim solve his IT ‘growing pains’ and expand his business,” said Rajan Sodhi, vice president of marketing at PEER 1. “Business and tech managers go through many IT challenges as their online demands grow. Sharing their stories in entertaining ways can help others navigate the complexities of running an online business.”
Headquartered in Portland, Maine, Big Room Studios (www.bigroomstudios.com) specializes in offering combined online services, which primarily include web and print design, web development and IT support and consulting. Started in 2002 by Mateosian and his brother, the company now has clients throughout North America and the UK.
Mateosian has been a PEER 1 customer for nearly six years and has worked in the hosting industry for more than 10 years. He has always loved computers and technology and started in the industry as a hosting reseller. The business grew to include advanced web solutions when his brother, a talented programmer, joined and created a web framework for the firm. PEER 1’s self-managed hosting is the ideal solution for this kind of programming, since the Mateosian brothers require more control over the server environment in order to run their web solutions.
“I am excited about winning the managed hosting contest. This is extremely good timing since our company is growing quickly and we were planning on expanding anyway,” said Mateosian. “And I have never won anything before!”
PEER 1 will be holding a new contest, calling for contestants to create and upload their own “growing pains” video, in conjunction with the upcoming second episode of “Growing Pains” due out in May.
